ordering

how does ordering work?

every gentle nod item is made to order. when you place an order, it goes straight into production — printed, finished, and shipped directly to you. nothing is held in stock.

it takes a little longer than ordering from a warehouse retailer. that's just how it works.

can I change or cancel my order?

there's no guaranteed window to change or cancel. once an order is in production, it can't be stopped.

if you need to cancel, contact us at support@gentlenod.com immediately — if it hasn't entered production yet, we'll do what we can.

can I order as a gift?

yes. just enter the recipient's address at checkout and the order will go directly to them.

there's no gift wrapping, no gift message, and no gift receipt. it arrives in standard packaging.

how much does shipping cost?
free shipping zones

standard shipping is free to the UK, US, and EU.

flat-rate zones

flat-rate shipping charges apply to Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Norway, and Switzerland. the cost will show at checkout before you confirm.

how long will my order take?
production

production takes 2–5 business days for most orders. over 97% of orders ship within 5 business days. during busy periods — around holidays and peak sale events — it can take a little longer.

delivery after production

once shipped, delivery times are approximately:

  • UK: 2-4 business days
  • US and Canada: 3–6 business days
  • EU: 2–4 business days
  • Australia: 2–5 business days
  • New Zealand, Norway, Switzerland: 4–10 business days

these are estimates, not guarantees. you'll receive a tracking number as soon as your order ships.

where is my order shipped from?
UK, US, EU, Canada, Australia

orders are fulfilled from a facility local to you. UK orders ship from Wolverhampton. US orders from North Carolina or Texas. Canadian orders from Toronto. EU orders from Latvia or Spain. Australian orders from Brisbane or Melbourne.

your item doesn't travel any further than it needs to.

New Zealand, Norway, Switzerland

there's no local facility for these destinations, so your order ships internationally. that's reflected in the longer delivery estimate and the flat-rate shipping charge.

will I get a tracking number?

yes. you'll receive a tracking number by email as soon as your order ships.

do I have to pay customs or import duties?
UK, US, EU, Canada, Australia

no. orders to these destinations are fulfilled locally, so there are no customs charges.

New Zealand, Norway, Switzerland

these orders ship internationally. import duties are unlikely to apply to a single low-value garment, but customs rules vary and we can't guarantee it. if in doubt, check your country's import threshold before ordering.

sizing & fit

how do I find my size?

every product page has a size guide with measurements. check it before ordering — we don't offer exchanges, so getting the right size first time matters.

do your garments come up true to size?

it depends on the product. sizing varies by item, and some run differently to what you might expect — particularly if you're used to US sizing.

items are regular fit as standard. the size guide on each product page includes any fit notes specific to that item.

what if something doesn't fit?
UK, EU, and Norway

contact us within 14 days of receiving your order and we'll arrange a return and refund. see the returns section below for how it works.

all other countries

we're unable to accept returns for sizing outside the UK, EU, and Norway. the size guides are there to help — if you're unsure, check yours before ordering.

what are the items made from?

it varies by product. full materials and construction details are on each product page.

are the products ethically made?

the items we carry are produced to high ethical and environmental standards — that's how we choose them.

what is DTG printing?

direct-to-garment. ink is applied directly to the fabric rather than via a transfer or screen. the result is a soft, integrated print — part of the garment rather than sitting on top of it. water-based inks throughout.

it's not the same as a heat transfer, and it doesn't feel like one.

will the print fade after washing?

with the right care, no. machine wash cold, inside out, on a gentle cycle with a mild detergent. no fabric softener. hang to dry where you can — heat isn't good for prints or for the garment.

the care instructions on each product label are specific to that item. follow them and the print will last. skip them and it may not.

what is the almost plain range?

clothing with a small gentle nod logo and nothing else on the outside. no phrase, no large branding. if you want an affordable, well-made everyday piece without a message, that's what it's for.

can I customise an item with my own text or design?

no. everything gentle nod makes uses its own phrases and designs. we don't offer personalisation or custom orders.

returns & problems

my item arrived damaged or misprinted — what do I do?

contact us within 30 days of receiving your order. send a photo of the issue and your order number. if it's a production error, we'll replace it or refund it — no return required.

what is your returns policy?
UK, EU, and Norway

you have the right to return an item within 14 days of receiving it, no questions asked. contact us first, then return the item unused and unwashed within a further 14 days. we'll refund what you paid for the item once we receive it.

please don't send anything back without contacting us first.

return postage is your responsibility.

all other countries

we're unable to accept change-of-mind returns for orders outside the UK, EU, and Norway. if your item arrives faulty, damaged, or misprinted, see above — that's handled separately and fully covered.

Manufacturing

Our products are manufactured both locally and globally. We carefully select our manufacturing partners to ensure our products are high quality and a fair value.

how do I start a return?

email support@gentlenod.com with your order number and what you'd like to return. we'll confirm the return address and next steps.

do you offer exchanges?

no.

my order hasn't arrived — what do I do?

check your tracking link first. if it shows as delivered but nothing's arrived, or if there's been no movement for several days, get in touch. raise it within 30 days of the estimated delivery date.

I entered the wrong address — what happens?

if you spot it before the order ships, contact us immediately at support@gentlenod.com and we'll try to correct it.

if the order has already shipped and is returned because of an incorrect address, reshipment costs are yours to cover.
